Singles, doubles and mixed doubles are all offered, as are play in family divisions. USTA Northern hosts one Category I Tournament - the Men's 65 & Over Indoor National Championships at Life Time Athletic Eden Prairie each August. Category II tournaments are the next level down from Category I National Championships.
Participating in junior tournaments supplements a player's tennis training, opportunity for valuable match-play experience in both singles and doubles and can be a social time to meet other tennis players. Tournament play for ranking points is offered in the boys and girls 12's, 14's, 16's & 18's age divisions. For players ages 7-10, they will take part in our Stars and Trophies tournament system. The L2R is a Regional Championship tournament for the same intermediate, ranked players. However, only regional residents can compete in these closed tournaments. L3. These are our introductory tournaments designated for unranked players (UPS) only. After winning two Level 3’s you must move on to compete in Level 2 (L2) tournaments.

We offer competitive league play and tournaments for adults and juniors alike, offer grants and assistance to members and member organizations and support the game at every level in every way we possibly can.
